Play Parties and Socials for the Open-Minded
Menagerie is a private play party and social community based in Brighton, created for people who want to explore connection, intimacy, sexuality, and pleasure in a thoughtful, respectful, and consent-led environment.
We bring together a carefully vetted group of curious, open-minded people for elegant, community-focused events designed to foster both social and sexual connection. We place particular emphasis on creating spaces where women, queer people, and gender-diverse guests feel welcomed, respected, and safe to explore.
Menagerie prioritises consent, care, communication, and pleasure. Our events are designed to feel intimate, intentional, and community-oriented, not anonymous or transactional.
Who We Are
Weβre a small collective of queer and kinky Brighton locals who wanted to create the kind of spaces we wished existed more regularly: warm, inclusive, playful, and grounded in mutual respect.
Our aim is to:
- Create safer spaces for people to explore sexuality and connection
- Foster community around ethical non-monogamy, kink, and sexual openness
- Encourage communication, curiosity, and consent
- Help people feel confident, desired, and free to express themselves authentically
Who is Menagerie for?
Menagerie is for adults aged 21+ who are interested in:
- Ethical non-monogamy and alternative relationship structures
- Kink, sensuality, and sexual exploration
- Group play and intimate social connection
- Exploring boundaries, desires, and fantasies in a respectful environment
We welcome people of all genders, bodies, and sexualities. Through our vetting and ticketing process, we aim to cultivate balanced and intentional spaces where a diverse range of people feel comfortable participating.
What happens at a Menagerie Play Party?
Our play parties begin socially. Guests arrive clothed, mingle, and take part in optional icebreakers designed to help people relax and connect naturally.
As the evening progresses, guests are welcome to explore play at whatever level feels right for them. There is never any expectation to participate sexually, and choosing not to play is always completely valid.
We provide social and low-pressure spaces throughout the venue for anyone wanting a break, quieter conversation, or downtime.
What happens at a Menagerie Social?
Menagerie Socials are relaxed, community-focused gatherings with no play involved.
Theyβre designed to help people meet others in the community, make friends, flirt, chat, and build connections in a lower-pressure environment before attending a play event.
Some people come purely for the social side of Menagerie and never attend play parties, and thatβs absolutely welcome.
Consent & Safety
Consent and care are central to Menagerie.
We are committed to creating environments where people feel respected, heard, and able to participate without pressure or harm. We take concerns around consent and behaviour seriously and have processes in place for reporting, safeguarding, and accountability.
All guests are expected to read and agree to our Rules, Policies, and Consent Guide before attending.
We continue to review and improve our safety practices as our community evolves.
Accessibility
Our current venues unfortunately involve stairs and are not yet wheelchair accessible. We know this limits access and are actively looking into more accessible venues for future events.
Play spaces may feature low lighting and music/noise during busier social periods, though quieter indoor and outdoor spaces are available throughout the evening.
If you have specific accessibility needs or questions, please reach out via email or during your vetting conversation, weβll always do our best to support you.
